Irving Residence:
Modern Cottage Kitchen Renovation
This full kitchen renovation transformed an outdated kitchen and its surrounding spaces into a cohesive, functional home designed around the way the clients live.
The clients envisioned a modern cottage-inspired kitchen—warm, inviting, and full of character, but with the functionality and clean lines needed for everyday life. The project included a complete kitchen gut renovation with a new layout, cabinetry, finishes, fixtures, lighting, and appliances, as well as updates to the adjacent dining room, entryway, and hallway. A full gut renovation of the family room completed the transformation and created a more connected, cohesive main living area.
Oshun Design led the kitchen layout and interior design, developing a design that balanced the clients' aesthetic goals with practical considerations like circulation, storage, functionality, and connection to the surrounding rooms. Finish, fixture, and equipment selections were carefully coordinated with the client throughout the renovation to create a consistent design language from room to room.
Throughout construction, Oshun Design provided ongoing design coordination and client support, working closely with both the homeowners and general contractor to answer questions, resolve design details, coordinate selections, and keep the project moving forward.
The result is a thoughtfully renovated kitchen and main living space that feels distinctly personal: comfortable and character-rich, modern without feeling stark, and designed to support the rhythms of everyday life.

Murray Residence
Whole-Home Renovation
& Reimagining
Following a devastating house fire, this home was brought down to the studs and completely reimagined inside and out.
Oshun Design developed a comprehensive design for the entire home, including a new kitchen, dining and living room layout, a complete exterior overhaul, and new front and rear porches.
Throughout the renovation, thoughtful and intentional design decisions were balanced with strategic spending and careful consideration of where to invest for the greatest impact.
Functional details were incorporated throughout the home to support everyday life, including a custom built-in gate that allows the kitchen to be easily closed off from pets and children when needed—without compromising the design.
Services included whole-home space planning and layout, interior design, design plans, finish and fixture selection, appliance and equipment selection, paint and stain selections, and ongoing general contractor coordination.
The result is a cohesive, highly functional home that feels personal and considered, with design choices that balance beauty, practicality, and thoughtful investment.
