Irving Residence:
Modern Cottage Kitchen Renovation
This full kitchen renovation transformed an outdated kitchen and its surrounding spaces into a cohesive, functional home designed around the way the clients live.
The clients envisioned a modern cottage-inspired kitchen—warm, inviting, and full of character, but with the functionality and clean lines needed for everyday life. The project included a complete kitchen gut renovation with a new layout, cabinetry, finishes, fixtures, lighting, and appliances, as well as updates to the adjacent dining room, entryway, and hallway. A full gut renovation of the family room completed the transformation and created a more connected, cohesive main living area.
Oshun Design led the kitchen layout and interior design, developing a design that balanced the clients' aesthetic goals with practical considerations like circulation, storage, functionality, and connection to the surrounding rooms. Finish, fixture, and equipment selections were carefully coordinated with the client throughout the renovation to create a consistent design language from room to room.
Throughout construction, Oshun Design provided ongoing design coordination and client support, working closely with both the homeowners and general contractor to answer questions, resolve design details, coordinate selections, and keep the project moving forward.
The result is a thoughtfully renovated kitchen and main living space that feels distinctly personal: comfortable and character-rich, modern without feeling stark, and designed to support the rhythms of everyday life.
